Mixed Martial Arts Training - Strength and Conditioning

Mixed martial arts or MMA as it is commonly know is the fastest growing sport in the world and has surpassed boxing in the pay per view (PPV) figures. The premier organisation is the Ultimate Fighting Championship based out of Las Vegas and they have single handedly brought the sport of MMA from being considered a human cock-fighting spectacle to a main stream sport. Mixed martial training has become so intense that NFL football teams are now training in it during the off season to maintain or even improve their current level of fitness.

When MMA first started out many of the fighters had one discipline, be it jiu jitsu or boxing, and the goals was to exploit the weakness of the other opponent. In modern MMA most of the fighters are so well rounded that they have no weakpoints in their game and are considered the complete fighter. It is very exciting to see what the next generation of fighters will bring.
